‘Covid…not cute’ – Angela Scanlon says that having covid while pregnant was ‘a little worrying’.

Angela Scanlon has opened up about her ‘worrying’ experience with covid after she tested positive for the virus while pregnant with her second child.

The TV presenter, who announced she was expecting another baby with her husband Roy Horgan last October, took to her Instagram Stories to share details of her experience.

Angela responded to a fan’s question about how she dealt with the illness as she said: ‘So Covid, yes, not cute and a little worrying because I was pregnant.’

She then went on to discuss the symptoms she suffered as a result, saying: ‘It started just a bit achy and tired but again I just thought I had been working really hard and it was pregnancy.’

‘And then it just developed into a bad cold very much like the sinuses. Scratchy, sore, sore throat bit of a voice gone and then a bit of a cough,’ she said.

The 38-year-old, who is also proud mum to three-year-old daughter Ruby, previously opened up to The Irish Examiner about her and hubby Ryan’s experience living through the pandemic.

‘My husband really needs a routine, so he’s working in our spare bedroom, which is now an office.

‘For me, it’s a little more hand-to-mouth — I’ll be with [my daughter] Ruby, she’ll fall asleep, I’ll record a podcast,’ she said.

Angela said she was happy to have little Ruby to keep her company during the time but also admitted she was ‘wildly jealous’ of her friends who could binge-watch Sex and the City box-sets while they recovered.

In October, Angela shocked fans by revealing she was pregnant for a second time. The pregnancy had been kept top secret and by the time she made the announcement, she already had a blossoming bump.

‘Baby Horgan The Second (official title) arrives next spring. Feeling very lucky and excited & also nervous about jumping on a trampoline (forever),’ she wrote.
